Smoke Detectors

Smoke Detectors

Smoke Detectors are known to save lives. They alert occupants in a dwelling about a possible fire. This is especially crucial at night when occupants are sleeping.

Where should they be installed?

·         All bedrooms, living areas, basements, kitchens, and garages.

What type should I get?

·         There are two main systems, interconnected and single smoke detectors. We recommend interconnected smoke alarms so if one smoke alarm goes off, all of the smoke alarms go off to alert all occupants.

How do I maintain my smoke detectors?

·         We recommend that you change your batteries every time you change your clock for daylight savings.

·         We also recommend that you test your fire alarms at least once a month.

·         Replace every 10 years
