The Boonton Fire Department consists entirely of volunteers who live or have lived in the Town of Boonton. Members volunteer their time to protect and educate the residents of Boonton. The fire department handles an average of one hundred thirty calls a year consisting of structure fires, auto accidents, brush fires, carbon monoxide alarms and almost every other emergency situation you can think of. Members are on call twenty-four hours a day, three hundred and sixty-five days a year.
In addition to answering emergencies, department members also volunteer their time for community education. During Fire Protection Week, members visit the schools in town to promote safety among our school children. Adding to that considerable load, members also spend thousands of man-hours in training.
